Marshalls Driveline 50 Vintage Block Paving Driveway

Before
After 6 Days
Date Completed: 24/06/2014

Here we were transforming the existing driveway by extending the existing driveway into the garden to create more off road parking.

We used Marshalls Driveline Vintage block paving laid in the herringbone pattern and burnt ochre colour with a charcoal border.  At the end of the driveway, we installed a linear drainage system and soak-away to comply with planning regulations, along with two recessed manhole covers.

The right side of the driveway was retained using raised key kerbs retaining the new small lawn which will have a block edge to create a mowing edge.

Day 1  We have excavated the whole area and removed all waste off-site and also imported the foundations.

Day 2  We have levelled and compacted the foundation ready for installation and installed a concrete retaining edge on the right side.

Day 3 We have installed the linear drainage and the recessed manholes.

Day 4 We have begun installing the block paving to the driveway.

Day 5 We have laid all block ready to compact including kerb edging and mowing edge.

Day 6 We have compacted the block and created a new lawn.

What Our Customers Say

“Absolutely fantastic! We needed a way to stop water running underneath a poorly designed automatic door threshold into our Property. Abel Landscapes came up for a site-visit and advised on the best, affordable and wheelchair friendly drainage channel, making sure the water runs off down the street rather than into our building. A time amd date convenient to us was agreed. When the workmen came I was very impressed to witness a throrough and professional pre-job brief -all too often have I had it happen that after everything was agreed on site-visit, then the workmen turn up and ask “so what needs doing here?” not having been briefed about the job at all- not so with Abel Landscapes: they were briefed not only with everything that was agreed on during site visit but also the technical aspects and details of execution of the job. It was a joy to hear a proper job brief. Then the work itself was carried out swiftly and extraordinarily neatly. The finished job looks so good and un-intrusive I had to point out to staff that it’s already been done and they were impressed how well it fitted with the look of the front of our building. Most importantly though: it works! The drainage channel keeps the water away from our building and we can finally replace the sodden moss-ridden carpet. Thank you Abel Landscapes! 5 stars all round from communication over design to execution -oh, and reasonable price – I cannot recommend them enough! I would use them again in a heartbeat.”
