Landscaping Project With Water Feature Aigburth
This landscaping project was carried out at Aigburth area of Liverpool, commenced in December 2015 and completed in February 2016.
In this garden makeover project we were transforming the whole rear garden, creating a new patio area, retaining wall, cedar seat and planters including cedar decking and contemporary water feature.
Here we transformed the whole garden which was approx. 400m2 area into a luxury usable space. We started by removing all the trees that blocked the light. Then we created a new contemporary screen timber fence all around the garden. This is a split level garden with two levels, with the upper level being 1.2m higher than the lower level. Before we transformed the garden, the levels were separated by existing old decking that had rotted. We separated the garden levels by creating retaining wall using concrete block with paving stuck to the block to give a tile effect contemporary finish.
The lower level area was transformed by using Marshalls Symphony vitrified paving rustic colour for the main patio area and path leading to corner feature steps and garden gate. We also used cedar timber decking to create a large step with path around the large conservatory leading to cedar steps to give access to the upper-level garden at the opposite end of the paved steps. In the main patio, we also installed a manhole and paved steps in front of the doors of the smaller conservatory.
The paved and timber steps both lead to the upper-level garden, with the paved steps being a corner step design and the cedar timber steps being standard with a timber spindle design.
The paved corner steps lead to a curved path that we constructed using Marshalls Vitrified paving and the path leads to the other end of the garden through the centre at the lawn. At the other end of the garden, we constructed a raised cedar decking feature around the existing garden building. We installed a contemporary glass balustrade – handrail around the edge of the deck near the conservatory side of the deck. In the middle of the path, we constructed a contemporary water feature with three waterfalls and a small patio around it. The rest of the upper garden consists of a new lawn with planting in a border around perimeter fence screen. The planting will be carried out at a later date.
The whole garden has contemporary lighting installed on remote control, with contemporary wall lights, spike lights and brick lights.
